I look to people and nature for inspiration. While my earlier work was focused on landscapes and portraits, I find my work moving toward abstraction and concentrating on three dimensional form. I focus on natural forms, the "litter" or waste products of nature’s decomposition that many people ignore, or sweep away. I find these captivating, and seek to draw the attention and appreciation of others to them.
My method of shaping 3D quilts has been in development for the last few years. Each new work presents a different challenge, dependent on its size, shape, integration of elements, etc. I am continually striving to explore new techniques and methods, stretching the boundaries and perceptions of textiles.
